MC Spandex is back at it, although this time around he gets rid of the spandex and dons some fat tire gear:
Gettin' Dirty
For some reason it reminds me of Bubba Sparxxxxx vid....definitely worth a play and a laugh.
I have not been on the bike much this week....managed to get out a couple times on Wednesday - one for a road ride up main street through Uptown Butte and then over to Beeftrail for a quickie climb - although it was not so quick. In comparing my data point with prior excursions up there, I noticed I was pushing lower wattage and getting my heart rate up higher than usual too....so working more but putting out less powa'. Perhaps it is time to hit the pedals again and regain some quickly lost fitness!
We also went out for a group ride on Wed night. We went up to the old railroad bed off Janney road and tickled the cranks up to Pipestone Pass....going through a couple of tunnels and the RR trestle. The temps were great and I noticed some of that their rock and stone that is just begging for some recon action. At first glance, it looks like there is some great potential for bouldering through the area. The best part is that the stone looks steep (my favorite style) in some places too! The ride itself was very pleasant, it was fun to be riding and enjoying the scenery without going out and hammering.
The single-speed wheel has been fixed thanks to Rick and the Outdoorsman for the kick butt service! I hope to get out on it this weekend or even today if mother nature plays nice.
As mentioned on a prior post, part of the reason for getting distracted from the bike as of late has been the urge to get back climbing. I have managed to get into the garage bouldering cave about 3 times this week and even managed to get a quick campus session in. When I started the session, I quickly realized that the angle that I had set it up on was too steep! So it was off to ACE to buy some 4 1/2 X 1/2 inch bolts so I could swivel the board from steep to easier and back hopefully back to steep in the future.
I was very very quickly humbled by how much climbing strength I have lost! My contact strength on the board was pretty pathetic...plenty of motivation to gain back some core strength as well as working the tendons for contact strength...all I can say is a big ole' slice of humble pie was served up COLD! If that does not serve as a kick in the groin to spark some training then nothing will...ohhhh the glory days...back in the day when I could actually campus - and the sad part is that I spent all my time yesterday on the big rungs...did not even contemplate trying to touch the middle or smallies...baby steps...especially with campusing as it is a fine recipe for pulling tendons if not careful!
We got a quote back from Mintage Airstream and we need to go through it to determine if we can shave any cost on the list of items we had wanted done...the reality is we want a pimped out Airstream done ala high class escort service and maybe all we can afford is a crack ho' (ok ok, maybe a suburban middle class crack ho'....)

T-Bone, I don't understand - at least not completely - your mind. But that's okay. I hope you get rid of the crack ho' smell by the time the Stream is done...

Good post. The last paragraph made me laugh.
