The trip started with a weekend trip to Chiloquin to hand with the Hodgies at their cabin on the Williamson. Some day I will have to take up fishing as I continue to hear how world class this river is. Instead of fishing we opted to bag a couple of peaks around Crater Lake. The objectives were to hike Mt Scott and Garfield.
One of the motivations to hike them was to collect beta on possible access in the winter. We had been down Garfield in the winter on the splits but we wanted to get a better lay of the land without snow. The recon missions were well worth the trip as the biggest benefit was we got to hike the areas and enjoy the incredible views. The wives put up with our talk of 'chutes' and 'ladders' as we surveyed the countryside opining about best aspects, access, etc....in other words, they were tired of listening to us within about 5 minutes.
Fortunately, for them, they could enjoy the hikes proper:
